Lucia, out of the Leonida Penitentiary
Leonida's justice system weighs on the story from the start: Lucia Caminos is fresh out of prison. According to Rockstar, fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary, and sheer luck got her out.
One official image shows her handcuffed in an orange jumpsuit inside the prison. Since then, she has promised herself to make only smart moves.
Chases all the way into the swamps
Law enforcement operates across the whole state, far from the cities too. One official image shows a helicopter and two police cars chasing a pickup truck through a Grassrivers swamp, among the alligators.
It suggests chases won't stop where the asphalt ends, but Rockstar hasn't detailed how they will work yet.
Arrests in front of the phones
In Vice City, police work happens in front of the phones. Another official image shows two women being handcuffed by an officer while a third takes a selfie in front of the scene and a fourth poses on the police car.
Social media plays a big part in the world Rockstar has shown: the Real Dimez, for example, owe part of their success to their online presence, according to their official profile.
A circle on the wrong side of the law
Almost every character introduced so far lives on the edge of the law, which promises run-ins with the police. Jason works for drug runners in the Keys, Brian Heder moves product through his boat yard and Raul Bautista robs banks.
Jason's friend Cal Hampton, for his part, spends his evenings snooping on Coast Guard comms, according to Rockstar.
What we don't know yet
Rockstar hasn't presented GTA 6's wanted system yet: we don't know how many levels it will have, how to lose the police, or what happens to the player after an arrest.
Any rule stated elsewhere before release is therefore speculation. We will update this guide as soon as the game is out on November 19, 2026.
