Rumor: according to GamesBeat, Rockstar Games plans to release the PC version of GTA 6 in the first quarter of 2027, between January and March. The outlet relies on four anonymous industry sources. Rockstar has announced nothing: for now, no PC version is confirmed.
What GamesBeat reports
GamesBeat says the four sources are familiar with the studio's plans and asked for anonymity to protect their business relationships. A Rockstar representative did not respond to the outlet's request for comment, GTA BOOM reports.
The console version is due on November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If the window holds, PC would follow within a few months, an extra four months of waiting according to GamesRadar+.
An unusual schedule for Rockstar
The studio has a habit of making PC players wait. GTA V launched on consoles in September 2013 and reached PC in April 2015, about a year and seven months later, GTA BOOM points out. GamesRadar+ adds that Red Dead Redemption 2 waited a little over a year, and the original Red Dead Redemption fourteen years.
Several signals were already fueling speculation. GTA BOOM mentions datamined hints in files tied to a GTA Online update suggesting PC work, and Rockstar Intel reports "noise" in the industry about a pulled-forward date, from VGC's Andy Robinson. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has also said PC is becoming "more and more important" to the company, without naming a date, per GamesRadar+.
What we still don't know
Nothing is confirmed: neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has announced a PC version or a date. GamesBeat's sources remain anonymous, and a quarter is not an exact date. For now, it remains a rumor.
