Is GTA 6 coming to Switch 2? Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard announced nothing. Asked by Variety, she said it is "a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar," according to Kotaku, which relays the interview.
The game is due in November. Nintendo Everything notes that the company says it wants a diversity of games on Switch 2, but stays quiet on GTA 6 arriving there.
What Nintendo said
Kotaku sums up Pritchard's answer: nothing to announce for now, and the decision rests with the two publishers. The site says Switch 2 is the only current console not getting GTA 6 this fall. It reads that as a game missing at launch and possibly forever, which is its own interpretation, not an announcement.
Other Rockstar games on Switch 2
Kotaku points out that Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5 have not reached Switch 2 either, even though the former came to PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X/S. Both are among the four top-ten best-selling games ever that are missing from the console, alongside PUBG and Wii Sports.
Studio Virtuous says it is eager for the challenge: technical director Fong told Pocket Tactics the team would like to adapt GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. For a Vice City fix on Nintendo's console, Kotaku notes that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is available there.
A busy November calendar
Kotaku notes that Switch 2 also gets a Nintendo exclusive going head to head with GTA 6: the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, due November 5, two weeks before Rockstar's game.
What we don't know yet
None of the sources consulted reports a reaction from Rockstar or Take-Two, and nothing indicates a Switch 2 version is being considered. It is also unclear whether the console could run the game: Kotaku calls that a mystery.
